Piyajkoli Diye Tangra Mach


Ingredients:

  • 150 grams small tangra fish
  • 1 small potato (peel & cut into thin wedges)
  • 1/2 cup green onion / piyajkoli (cut into 1" long)
  • 1/2 cup spring onion (chopped)
  • 1/8 cup tomato (chopped)
  • 1 tsp. ginger (grated)
  • 2-3 green chilies (chopped)
  • 1/4 + 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp. black cumin seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp. oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 200 ml water

Making Procedure:


Clean and wash the fishes. Then marinate them with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder for 5-10 minutes. 

Heat mustard oil in a wok or kadai till it begins to smoke. Then reduce heat and add the fishes. Fry it on medium heat till light brown. Remove fish from the wok and keep aside.

Now add black cumin seeds into the same oil and let this few seconds to splutter. Add potato wedges and green onion. Fry it for 5-7 minutes on low to medium heat. Then add spring onion and fry for 4-5 minutes.


After that add chopped tomato and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add ginger, turmeric & cumin powder, salt and mix well.

Stir for a minute and add water. When the water starts boiling add fried fishes and chopped green chilies. Cook it covered for 5-10 minutes on low flame. 

Serve with hot plain rice.
