Paneer Paratha
Ingredients:
For stuffing:
- 100 grams paneer /cottage cheese (grated)
- 1/3 cup red onion (sliced)
- 1 tbsp. ginger (grated)
- 1-2 green chilies (chopped)
- 2 tsp. coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1/4 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. oil
- A pinch of salt
For dough:
- 350 grams all purpose flour (maida)
- 3 tsp. oil
- 1 tsp. Salt
- Water as needed
Other ingredients:
- Oil or ghee for frying
Making Procedure:
For stuffing:
For dough:
In a large mixing bowl mix all purpose flour and salt and mix it very well. Then add oil into it and rub the flour with the oil until it looks like crumbly texture.
Now add water and make a semi soft dough and keep aside.
Knead the dough with 1 tsp. oil and divide it into 8 equal sized balls.
2-3 drops oil put on the rolling surface, then roll out one portion of the dough (1 ball ) into a circle of 3-4” diameter. Now place one portion of the prepared stuffing in the center of the dough circle. Then pull the edges of the rolled dough together in the center and seal it tightly to make a ball.
With a little oil roll out the ball again into a 7” diameter circle.
Now flip the paratha over; after a few second spread oil over it and flip it again.
Fry it both side till the paratha catches some golden brown spots.

Repeat the process to make 8 balls.
With a little oil roll out the ball again into a 7” diameter circle.
Heat a tawa or griddle, place the paratha over it and after a few seconds the paratha puff in different places.
Now flip the paratha over; after a few second spread oil over it and flip it again.
Fry it both side till the paratha catches some golden brown spots.
