Soya Cutlet
Ingredients:
- 1 cup soya granules
- 2 medium size potatoes (boiled)
- 1 medium size carrot (boiled)
- 1/4 cup french beans (chopped & boiled)
- 1/4 cup green peas (boiled)
- 1/3 cup onion (chopped)
- 1 tbsp. ginger (grated)
- 1 tbsp. garlic (finely chopped)
- 4-5 green chilies (finely chopped)
- 3 bread slices (dip in a cup of water & squeeze)
- 1 1/2 tbsp. coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1/4 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. cornflour
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 80-100 grams suji (rava)
- Oil for shallow frying
Making Procedure:
Take 2 cups of water and completely immerse the soya granules into it. Add a pinch of salt and cook it for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat; drain and squeeze out the water from it. Rinse well in cold water and again squeeze it. Then keep it aside.
In a large mixing bowl mix all the ingredients except rava and oil. Mash them well. Heat 1 tbsp. oil in a pan and add the mashed mixture. Stir and fry for 2-3 minutes, then let it cool and keep aside.
Divided the mixture in 18-20 balls. Press each ball into cutlet or round shape.
Dip the cutlets in suji.
Then shallow fry the cutlets both sides till golden brown. Remove from oil and keep on a paper towel.
Serve hot with tamarind chutney or tomato ketchup.
