Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
- 3 individual chicken leg pieces(500-550 grams)
- 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. hung curd
- 1 tsp. ginger paste
- 1 tsp. garlic paste
- 1 tsp. mustard powder (dissolved in 1/2 tsp. water)
- 1/8 tsp. red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. chat masala powder
- 1/4 tsp. garam masala powder
- 1 tsp. mustard oil
- Salt to taste
- Oil for basting
Making Procedure:
Clean and wash the chicken legs. Then cut 2-3 long deep slits on each leg piece. Apply 1/8 tsp. salt and lemon juice all over the chicken and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl mix ginger paste, garlic paste, hung curd, mustard paste, red chili powder, chat masala powder, garam masala powder and salt all together.
Apply the mixture all over the chicken (apply well between all the slits). Then spread mustard oil over it and lightly mix it. After that cover the pot and keep under refrigeration for 1 hour.
After 1 hour put the chicken in oven and grill on high for 10-15 minutes. Then turn over the chicken and grill again for 10-15 minutes. Now check if the chicken is done, if not then repeat the process till the chicken is done.
After that bast it with oil and grill again on high for 5 minutes or till the chicken is tender.
Serve hot with onion rings and lemon wedges.
Note:
Grill time depends on >>
1. Amount of the chicken.
2. Size and quality of the oven.
