Note Saag Fry


Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of note saag (only soft stems and leaves to be taken)
  • 1-2 dry red chilies (broken)
  • 25 grams roasted peanut
  • 2 tsp. poppy seeds
  • 2 tbsp. mustard oil
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Salt to taste

Making Procedure:


Clean the leaves and the soft stems. Then chopped them into small sizes. Put it in a colander and wash it thoroughly under running water. (The colander can help you to clean the mud and sand very easily).

Pour the mustard oil in a kadai and let it smoke. Reduce the heat, add peanut and dry red chilies. Stir it for 30 seconds. Then add note saag. Stir well and add pinch of salt. Close the lid and cook it for 5 minutes.

Open the lid and stir continuously for 5 minutes. Then add poppy seeds, sugar and salt (adjust salt to the quantity of saag). Fry it for 3-5 minutes on low heat. 

Now it is ready to serve. Serve with plain rice.
