Chura
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Chira (flattened rice flakes)
- 1/4 cup Bengal gram dal (chana dal)
- A hand full roasted peanut
- About 1/2 cup coconut (grated)
- 1/2 tsp. black mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp. red chili powder
- 12 -14 curry leaves
- 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
- 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 1/2 tbsp. oil
- Salt
Making Procedure:
Soak the Bengal gram dal in water for 1 hour, drain the water, dry it and keep aside.
Into a dry kadai roast the chira until it turns light off white colour.
Heat oil in a kadai and add cumin and mustard seeds. When the seeds splutter add curry leaves and stir for a minute.
Then add the Bengal gram dal, roasted peanut, green chilies, a pinch of salt, turmeric powder and fry for 2 minute on low medium heat.
Add grated coconut into it and fry until they are semi crispy.
Now add the roasted chira, red chili powder, salt and sugar, stir and mix well. Fry it for 3-4 minutes on low heat. Then remove from heat and let it cool.
Serve chura as snacks. you can also store it into a air-tight container.
