Thepla
Thepla is a common food of among gujarati meals and is used for regular meals eaten hot with curd and achaar.
Mix whole wheat floor, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ajwain and oil into a bowl.
Then mix well and knead into a semi soft dough adding by a little water. Keep it into a covered pot and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
Divided the dough into 10 to 12 equal sized balls. Roll out the each ball into round shape.
Now heat a griddle or tawa and roast it. Then using a little oil or ghee shallow fry it till it turn golden colour on the both sides.
Now thepla is ready to serve.
Ingredients:
- 350 grams whole wheat floor (atta)
- 100 grams curd
- 1/2 tsp. ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. red chili powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp. oil
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee for shallow fry
