Potol Posto (Sweet flavoured)
Ingredients:
- 500 grams potol (parwal)
- 2-3 green chilies (slited)
- 2 tbsp. mustard paste
- 4 tbsp. poppy seed paste
- 1 tbsp. ginger paste
- 1 tbsp. raisin paste
- 1/4 tbsp. turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 cup water
- Salt to taste
- 5-6 tbsp. mustard oil
Making Procedure:
Peel the potol and wash well. Marinate them with little salt and turmeric powder for 5 minutes.
Heat mustard oil in a kadai and lightly fry the potol on medium heat. Remove the it from the kadai and keep aside.
Now add 1/2 tbsp. sugar & green chilies into the oil, stir for a second and add mustard paste, poppy seed paste, ginger paste, raisin paste, turmeric powder, salt,sugar to it and keep stirring on low heat.
Fry all this spices well till the oil starts coming out from the sides. Add 1 cup of water to it and add the fried potol. Now cook it covered till a thick gravy is formed.
Served with hot rice.
